Tummy Time

I put Sarah on her tummy for a little while today & it didn't take her long to get comfortable!

Finally awake!

It has been difficult to catch Sarah with her eyes open, but she was awake for a while tonight & we finally got some cute pictures. You can see her pretty blonde features. We have also spotted a dimple on her right cheek that shows up every now & then. I was hoping she would get one of her daddy's fun dimples!

Jolie has been so sweet to Sarah. She tells her "it's okay, baby sister" when Sarah is crying. She is turning out to be a great big sis!

Home...again

Sarah was jaundiced so we had to be admitted to the hospital on Saturday evening. Thankfully she responded well to the phototherapy & is no longer a pretty shade of yellow. Here are a couple of pictures of our sweet little patient. Her little mask protected her eyes from the light.

Sarah Ellen has arrived!

Sarah arrived yesterday at 2:38 pm weighing in at 6 lbs. 14 oz. & 19.5 inches long. She is very sweet & came out with the sweetest little whimper. Jolie is adjusting well. We are very excited she is finally here. I'm feeling great & look forward to being back at home tomorrow. Here are a couple of pictures with more to come...

We had a great time tonight at the tailgate festivities before our first home game of the season. Jolie wore her new cheerleader uniform & attended Ace the mascot's 1st birthday party. She was the first kid to greet Ace & tell him "happy birthday!" She was thrilled to see him & wouldn't leave him alone. Todd helped her sign Ace's birthday card. She might be Ace's #1 fan :)

These pictures were taken earlier in the week after my baby shower last weekend. Jolie liked the flower band that was part of the gift wrap on one of my presents. She was pleased it made such a cute headband. She also has really enjoyed playing with baby sister's "sheep." She has a "lovey" just like it that is a bear. I was excited to receive one for our new baby.

Goodnight Moon

Welcome back college friends!

We had our annual welcome event for incoming freshmen yesterday at the BCM. Jolie is thrilled to have all of her college friends back in town & I don't think she minds the attention they give her. I included a picture of our returning students that helped with the event yesterday. As you can see, we have a very fun crew! Many of Jolie's good friends are in this picture. We can't imagine our life without these folks!

Our beautiful princess

Jolie finally tried on her flower girl dress for her Aunt Sarah's wedding yesterday. When she finally got it on her body she LOVED it! She said, "Mommy, I'm a princess." She wore it for over 2 hours & would occasionally touch it and say, "pretty dress, I like it." I personally liked that she insisted on wearing her Mickey Mouse Crocs the entire time!

FYI: Jolie's baby sister is due 6 weeks from today!

Jolie looked really cute yesterday & she knew it :) She was more than happy to let me take a few pictures of her. At the end of our photo shoot she fell on our rocky drive way & got a "bo bo" on just one of her knees. After I had cleaned her all up & placed the band aids on her she said, "Thank you for making it feel better, Mommy."

Fun at the Nidas

We went to see our good friends the Nidas this week while Todd was out of town. Jolie had a good time playing with her buddy David & baby John. I enjoyed visiting with their mom & dad. Jody takes great pictures & took a few of hot & sweaty Jolie for me. She's getting to be such a big girl!

Nonna & Jolie

We enjoyed having Nonna & Grandpa here the last couple of days. Jolie is a big fan of all of her grandparents. She got to spend the day today hanging out with her Grandpa. Thanks to Grandpa for giving me a break!

Reading

It is difficult to sneak up on Jolie & catch her doing something, but I was successful the other day when I found her "reading" in her playroom.

J-O-L-I-E

Jolie was "drawing" in her Daddy's notebook this morning & suddenly yelled, "Mommy, it's a "J" I draw name." I went to check it out & sure enough she had written a "J" so I dictated the rest of her name to her & these were the letters she drew. I forgot to take a picture of the "O" - sorry.

Tech Friends

We got to hang out with some of our friends from college on Saturday night. We had a good time watching our kiddos play. Josie & Caleb (siblings) are two of Jolie's favorite people (they are the kids to the right in the top picture.) Jolie would be happy if she could "play with friends" everyday. I wonder where she learned to be so social?

Snow hands & Mommy's shoes

Jolie put on her "snow hands" & a pair of my shoes yesterday & she was ready for a photo shoot. "More pictures, Mommy!" She likes to wear her mittens & get two of her golf clubs & pretend to ski through the hall. We love watching her imagination at work!

Our big girl

Jolie has officially made the move to her "big girl bed." We had a few tough nights during the transition, but she has learned to put herself to sleep again - thank goodness! She enjoys our bedtime routine which includes: reading 3 books, reading a Bible story & saying our prayers. Her typical prayer is, "Dear God, thank you for this great day. Thank you for all my friends. Amen." Very sweet! She now refers to the crib as "baby sister's bed."

My Little Helper

Jolie decided to help me mop today. She was very impressed with all the suds in the mop water & thought they all belonged on the floor. Thankfully, her assistance was easy to mop up :)

Fun Day

I took this picture this afternoon after Jolie was finishing up her lunch. Her smile is so natural in this shot. We spent the morning "playing with friends" at the Children's Museum in town. She had a great time. Her favorite part was rowing in a "boat" & watching herself on the screen in front of her. Here she is in action...
