Bragging on daddy...

The previous owner of our home had built a swing set for his kids, but had only built the frame for the playhouse. Todd & our good friend Steve got together a couple of days & built Jolie (& Sarah) a fabulous playhouse! She is loving climbing her ladder & sliding down her 14 foot slide! Todd did a great job & has Jolie begging to go outside! We are getting a tarp made for the roof & then it will be complete. Here are some pictures of Todd's great work:

This & That

Here are a couple of pictures from this week.

I let Jolie watch American Idol with me on Tuesday night & this is where she was when the show ended. She's been making up words to the tune of the Jesus Christ Superstar song that Carly sang. So funny! On Thursday, Jolie & I planted our first garden. We are growing a few veggies & some flowers. It is more of an experiment, but if we produce an edible crop it'll be fun!I love it when Jolie plays in front of Sarah because it keeps her so entertained! She loves her big sis!

Silly girl

Today Jolie has...

  • drawn all over her legs with a highlighter
  • revealed that she can open the child lock on the fridge & eaten 3 containers of Dora yogurt while I was bathing this morning
  • & made it "snow" in her room with powder.
She's been busy. Lucky for her, Sarah was a good sport during the snow storm. Sarah's head was SOLID white from powder. These pictures aren't great, but you'll get the idea.

Catching up...

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. This post is a few a my recent favorites. Some are older than others. Enjoy!

This was taken in March, but I just got it off my camera. I love this shot of Jolie.
Josie & Jolie - best buds!
Jolie likes to "check on Sarah" when Sarah wakes up from a nap. Here is where I find her every time!
Todd was taking a quick nap on the floor & I walked in to find the girls playing contently right in front of him. So sweet!

Sarah at 7 months

Sarah will be 7 months old on Friday. I can hardly believe it! She is such a joy! She has fit perfectly in our little family. Enjoy these shots from our photo shoot today. I could hardly pick a favorite - what a cutie! At 7 months she:

  • is sitting up
  • is almost crawling
  • likes to use her "voice"
  • smiles at me almost every time I look at her!
  • loves to watch Jolie
  • would rather be on the floor than in my arms
  • is enjoying baby food & mommy's milk
  • usually doesn't sleep all night
  • hardly ever fusses!

My fun girls!

Here are the two decent shots I got of both girls during my photo shoot. Jolie insisted on showing her panties in most of the pictures :)

Larto Lake '08

We made our annual trip to Gran & PawPaw's camp on Larto Lake this weekend. We had a great time, but the weather was uncooperative so the guys did very little fishing. Here are a few pictures that PawPaw shared with me:

Attempting a little fishing with Gran

Our attempt at a family portrait. Everyone looks cute, but I'm obviously talking :)

Just Sittin'

Sarah just started sitting up by herself. She is also scooting forward to get where she wants to go. She will be crawling before we know it. Have I mentioned how sweet she is? Here is our little "sitter" & her big sis:

Chicken Little

Jolie watched "Chicken Little" on Playhouse Disney this morning & then drew a picture of him with her sidewalk chalk. I decided it was cute enough to share (I've included a picture of Chicken Little so you can make the comparison):

Happy Belated Easter!

We had a great time spending Easter with Grandpa & Nonna this year. We returned home last night after almost a week at their house. We had a great time! We wanted to pack them up & bring them home with us! The next few posts are filled with pictures from our time in Corpus Christi. Here are the best pictures we got dressed up in our Easter best:

Easter Basket

Here is Jolie checking out her Easter basket before church:

Easter Cupcake

A local bakery makes these fun giant cupcakes. Nonna bought one for Jolie (& the rest of us) to enjoy on Easter. When Jolie spotted it in the laundry room Easter morning she asked Nonna, "Did the bunny bring it for you?"

Let's go fly a kite...

Grandpa & Daddy took Jolie to fly her first kite while we were visiting. They said Jolie did a great job holding on to the kite in the crazy Corpus Christi winds. They said the kite was in the air the minute they took it out of the car. Daddy took these cute pictures of their kite flying adventure:

Our little artist

One of Grandpa's hobbies is painting so he let Jolie create a few masterpieces on his easel. She was a huge fan! He said she took a step back from her work & and said, "I love it, I love it, I love it!" Here is our favorite little artist:

1st Green Beans

We've started introducing Sarah to the wonderful world of solid food. She has had carrots & as of today - green beans! Todd is working on a project outdoors & since the weather was beautiful today we all joined him. Here is Sarah (& Jolie) post green beans. Baby food - what a hassle!

Sleepy girls

I took this picture of Sarah napping on our bed earlier this week. I thought it would be fun to see what Jolie looked like around the same age. So here are our little girls napping.

Sarah

Jolie

What a mess!

Jolie is good at so many things, but especially at making messes. This is what I found when I got out of the bathtub on Monday morning. This was the second roll of toilet paper she destroyed in just one week. We are so proud :) She saw this picture as I was uploading it & said, "look at that mess!" Silly girl.

Another 1st

I fed Sarah her first rice cereal this week. She has had one serving the past three days. She seems to like it & is a very good eater. Here she is after her first meal:
