Memorial Day

We made it to my sister's house on Sunday & have been having a great time! We enjoyed a Memorial Day BBQ with family and some good friends from our time at GA Southern Univ. Here are a couple of pictures of us hanging out at Aunt Sarah's neighborhood pool with the Keisler family. Little Anna Brooke (the blonde) is such a cutie!

Sleepy girls

We were running errands Monday afternoon getting Todd ready for his trip & this is what the girls looked like when we got home. We ended up leaving them in the car (with the doors open) while we unloaded & did a few things. They both looked so peaceful that I couldn't stand to wake them!

In other news, Todd & his gang of 19 headed off to Africa yesterday morning. The girls & I saw him off at 5am at the BCM. Jolie & I were snuggling on the couch last night & she said, "mommy, daddy is going to miss me." I asked her where her daddy was yesterday & she informed me that he was "riding on an airplane, not a helicopter." She is full of useful information!

Don't Go Breakin' My Heart

Jolie's new favorite movie is Chicken Little & she particularly enjoys singing & dancing to some of the songs on the soundtrack. I apologize for the camera work as I was either laughing or holding Sarah through most of my filming. I laugh out loud every time I see it & hope you enjoy it too! Sorry it's a little long.

Sarah at 8 months

Time is flying! I can't believe another month of Sarah's little life has already come & gone. She continues to be a precious baby. At 8 months she is:

• CRAWLING! everywhere!
• Getting to sitting position by herself
• Still toothless
• Very entertained by her big sister
• Reaches out for me when someone else is holding her & I walk by
• So much fun!

Mother's Day

I feel blessed to be the mom of two sweet little girls. Here is a cute shot Todd took of me & Jolie after church (Sarah was napping) & his attempts to get all three of us later today.

Celebrating Gran

We spent the last few days in Alexandria visiting with family & celebrating Gran's retirement. We had a wonderful time & can't wait to see more of her next year! Here are a few highlights from our time in Alexandria:

A fun day

We had a good day today. We had a garage sale with some of our good friends this morning & then came home & relaxed around the house while Todd did yard work. We hung Sarah's swing on the swing set this evening. Here are some shots of her first time in the swing (& one of Jolie):

Fun times with friends

We had dinner on Wednesday night with some of our friends. Jolie & Josie loved the piano & were playing & singing their little hearts out. Aren't they cute?This is Sarah after we returned home. She was partied out!

Watch our garden grow...

We wouldn't want all of our friends & family to miss out on our exciting garden. Jolie & I have enjoyed watching our flowers & vegetables break through the soil. Here is a glimpse of our garden on day 7:

Bragging on daddy...

The previous owner of our home had built a swing set for his kids, but had only built the frame for the playhouse. Todd & our good friend Steve got together a couple of days & built Jolie (& Sarah) a fabulous playhouse! She is loving climbing her ladder & sliding down her 14 foot slide! Todd did a great job & has Jolie begging to go outside! We are getting a tarp made for the roof & then it will be complete. Here are some pictures of Todd's great work:

I let Jolie watch American Idol with me on Tuesday night & this is where she was when the show ended. She's been making up words to the tune of the Jesus Christ Superstar song that Carly sang. So funny!On Thursday, Jolie & I planted our first garden. We are growing a few veggies & some flowers. It is more of an experiment, but if we produce an edible crop it'll be fun!I love it when Jolie plays in front of Sarah because it keeps her so entertained! She loves her big sis!

Today Jolie has...

• drawn all over her legs with a highlighter
• revealed that she can open the child lock on the fridge & eaten 3 containers of Dora yogurt while I was bathing this morning
  
• & made it "snow" in her room with powder.

She's been busy. Lucky for her, Sarah was a good sport during the snow storm. Sarah's head was SOLID white from powder. These pictures aren't great, but you'll get the idea.

Jolie likes to "check on Sarah" when Sarah wakes up from a nap. Here is where I find her every time!

Todd was taking a quick nap on the floor & I walked in to find the girls playing contently right in front of him. So sweet!

Sarah at 7 months

Sarah will be 7 months old on Friday. I can hardly believe it! She is such a joy! She has fit perfectly in our little family. Enjoy these shots from our photo shoot today. I could hardly pick a favorite - what a cutie! At 7 months she:

• is sitting up
• is almost crawling
• likes to use her "voice"
• smiles at me almost every time I look at her!
• loves to watch Jolie
• would rather be on the floor than in my arms
• is enjoying baby food & mommy's milk
• usually doesn't sleep all night
  
• hardly ever fusses!
