The Pool & The Peacock

When we were playing in the pool on Thursday afternoon some peacocks were visiting our yard. Someone nearby owns several peacocks & they made it all the way to our neck of the woods. The peacock was hanging out on our neighbor's roof in this picture. Also, notice Jolie's fun swimsuit her Nonna gave her - so cute!

Indoor Picnic

Jolie swam right before dinner one night this week so we had an indoor picnic for dinner. Thank goodness for fish sticks - they keep her alive!

VBS

We were supposed to wear a shirt to support our favorite team today at VBS. Jolie wore her ULM t-shirt & I sported my Atlanta Braves maternity shirt. You can barely see it, but there is a baseball in the middle of my belly with "future fan" written around it :) Don't we look cute?

Ready, Set...

Splash!

Jolie has officially not taken a nap for two weeks today. I haven't given up hope that she will nap again, but in the meantime we have to stay busy or I will fall asleep! She loved the baby pool & is ready to jump back in tomorrow. The "water slide" was also a hit. Besides skipping naptime she is a joy!

The Backyardigans

We always know when "The Backyardigans" are coming on because Jolie belts out the theme song. This video would be cuter if you could see her face, but she usually stops performing if she sees the camera. She is very amusing!

Relaxin' at breakfast

Jolie was quite cozy this morning eating breakfast. She looks like such a big girl propped up on the couch.

Bittersweet

Jolie's pacifier has been on it's last leg for a couple of weeks now & I've been warning her that when it finally broke there would be no more paci. When I went to get her out of bed this morning she was holding these two pieces & said, "uh oh, paci broken." She mentioned it when we put her to bed tonight & I reminded her that it was broken & she said "all gone" and we went on with our bedtime routine. It's bittersweet to see her grow out of baby things, but I think it'll just be sweet when we say good-bye to diapers. Potty training here we come - maybe!

Jolie's best bud

I'm not sure exactly when this picture was taken, but I had to share it. One of our students took it of Jolie watching TV at the BCM with her best bud Mr. Parker. It must be fun to be loved by so many people!

Bubbles, Bobos, & More

Jolie LOVES blowing bubbles! It's been fun to watch her master doing it all by herself this spring. I always tell her "good job" when she does it so today when I was participating she kept telling me, "good job, mommy!"

She got her first scraped knees in the BCM parking lot yesterday. They has been lots of talk about her bobos, but fortunately very few tears were shed.

She has learned to hold on to the rings & hang. She sometimes request help when she is grabbing the rings, but she hangs all by herself. Such a strong girl!

Our little cowgirl

Jolie & I went to lunch last week with Miss Hannah (one of our college friends). She discovered this horse on the way out of the restaurant. Lucky for us, Miss Hannah had her camera. I don't think we'll ever get out of Chili Verde again without a horse ride!

New boots

Jolie's Gran recently treated her to some new "work" boots. They have been on her feet everyday since we took them out of her suitcase! She is able to slip them on all by herself - such a big girl. Gran also bought her the matching shovel & fork. They were out of the watering can & she kept requesting it so I took her to Target yesterday to buy a watering can. Now she ready to join Todd in the yard!

Mommy's shoes

I found Jolie watching TV while wearing my shoes a couple of weeks ago. She is a funny girl!

Life is good as a BCM kid

Jolie has it pretty good being a BCM kid. The older she has gotten the more our students have enjoyed entertaining her. She loves for them to swing her, throw her, spin with her, hop with her, "go this way" with her, etc. They are such good sports & she really loves their attention & time. Mr. Parker made a car out of this box today & pushed her around until he was blue in the face! She is quite demanding that they continue to play with her even if it is time for them to take a rest. I've also included a mediocre video of the crowd singing "Wheels on the Bus" with her. It must be hard to be so loved! Jolie loves her college friends!

Larto Lake

We went to Gran & PawPaw's camp on Larto Lake this past weekend. Jolie had a great time pretending to fish from the dock with Gran. I enjoyed all the extra sleep Gran allowed me to have - thanks, Gran!

Fun times in Shreveport

Jolie & I went to Shreveport this weekend & stayed with Uncle Bud & Aunt Courtney. We had a great time! We helped celebrate Lulu & Haper's (Uncle Bud's dogs) 1st birthday, we went to the park (which was a huge hit!) and we went to the Boardwalk. In addition to the fun we had with family we also got to see two of my good friends - Jolie & Tara. Oh yea...we even ran in to Mrs. Julia & Mr. Jimmy. It was a fun-filled weekend!

ULM Fountain

We were out on campus today & one of our students played with Jolie in the fountain. She must have walked around the water 100 times! She kept getting closer & closer to the water until she was pretty wet! I didn't have my camera, but one of our students took this picture with her phone. It was a priceless moment!

Sleeping

I caught a couple of pictures of Jolie sleeping at the end of her Sunday afternoon nap. They are sort of dark because the lights were off & I didn't use a flash. She still looks so sweet when she is sleeping.

Hop Hop Hooey!

While we were playing with sidewalk chalk Jolie requested, "Hop Hop Hooey." The JoJo's Circus version of hopscotch. The last two pictures are a sequence - in the first one she is getting ready to jump & in the last one she is in mid air. She said "Hop Hop Hooey" each time she hopped across!

Sidewalk art

Jolie spent some time in the backyard drawing with her "colors" this afternoon. Can you tell this child likes order in her life? Each time she moved the chalk she lined them all up!

I'm sure it's obvious, but this is Jolie's drawing of a kitty kat. As she petted the concrete she said, "Aww, how cute. It a kitty kat"

CHEESE!

Jolie has a rather intense "cheese" face! She needs to learn to keep her eyes open when she says, "Cheese!" I included the picture below b/c she has a sweet face :)
